It's 4:30 here and very cold. There is a tiny heater in this room. It's heats about like a hair dryer would heat your living room! Yesterday we had lunch at the new home where the happy couple will live. Remember, I went to China to attend the wedding of a young man who was one of the first orphans I worked with here? There were a few relatives of the bride.
There is no heat in the home except a small fire pit with tiny pieces of coal. The pit was about 10" by 20". We all sat on little stools around the pit and enjoyed conversation trying to figure out what each other was saying. It was very nice with a lot of love in that family that are there for the new bride and groom.
I was able to spend a little time in the orphanage. It is so cold the babies can hardly move due to the amount of clothing they are wearing. There is one tiny heater in one room. None in the bedrooms.
Today I was very thankful for the hot shower in my hotel room. In addition to the wedding, the boxes have been unpacked. Good to get them delivered to the orphanage. It was a lot of work getting the two boxes here but so worth it. The babies greatly need the soft mats to lie on and the Bumpo seats to help them sit up.
